2024 People of Publishing celebrated
People from across the publishing industry gathered yesterday evening [Tuesday 24 September] at the Menier Penthouse to celebrate this year’s People of Publishing.
The People of Publishing campaign, which is run by the Publishers Association, celebrates the people behind some of the most exciting things happening in the industry and the role they have played in driving publishing forward. Centred around championing progress across publishing sectors, the campaign aims to shine a light on individuals who have achieved great things.
This year’s People of Publishing nominations were carefully evaluated by a judging panel. The panel was made up of Dan Conway (CEO of the Publishers Association), Josie Dobrin (Executive Chair and Founder of Creative Access) and Philip Jones (Editor of The Bookseller). They assessed submissions based on a range of criteria including the impact the nominees have made, innovation and tackling inequality.
2024’s People of Publishing are:
Caroline Gorham, Production and Systems Director at Canongate
Sabah Khan, Publicity Director at Simon & Schuster UK (S&S)
Dr Adya Misra, Associate Director, Research Integrity at Sage
Dr Zaahida Nabagereka, Senior Social Impact Manager, Penguin Random House UK
Emma Steel, Head of Imprint, Every Cherry at Sweet Cherry Publishing
Yanmin Zhuchen-Mander, Senior Marketing Manager, John Murray Press at Hachette UK
Dan Conway said:

Perminder Mann, President of the Publishers Association and CEO of Bonnier Books UK, awarded the People of Publishing trophies to the cohort on the evening, and said:
